The change of Luxembourg's foreign policy

Bachelor thesis "The change of Luxembourg's foreign policy" focuses on contemporary foreign policy of Luxembourg. The state of flux of Luxembourg's foreign policy is visible from the second half of the twentieth century, occurring at the present time as well. Past far- reaching changes of the world sphere were in the background of prevailing part of changes in external Luxembourg's priorities. The current alteration of Luxembourg's foreign policy illustrates the presented relation as Luxembourg's external priorities adapt to the changing global stage. Luxembourg decided to directly come down to the process of European integration in the time of the beginning of European Community in post-war Europe, which provided the opportunity to become an important European centre. In the present time, Luxembourg's foreign policy concentrates apart from other things on remote world regions of Arabian Peninsula and south- eastern Asia. This bachelor thesis is firstly devoted to illustrate the past approximation of Luxembourg's foreign policy towards Western Europe as well as to present the position of Luxembourg in Europe. Czechoslovak embassy in Moscow in the years 1945-1948

1 Abstract Adamů Miloš: Czechoslovak Embassy in Moscow in the years 1945-1948 Praha: The Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague, 2011 188 s., The diploma thesis. The thesis monitors and evaluates the activities of the Czechoslovak Embassy in Moscow in the critical post-war years 1945-1948. It attempts to process the structure of the diplomatic and partly personnel corps, including changes that gradually occurred in the office. The task of the thesis is also monitoring the influence of inland events on the running of the embassy and its important leaders in those four years. The thesis largely follows the events of February 1948, which meant milestone situations for the Czechoslovak Embassy's activities and significantly influenced the lives of most of its employees. The ambassadors take the important place and they are given a high attention. The thesis also notes the fates of the selected persons in 1948. The thesis brings and systematizes the knowledge of European diplomacy and analyzes its influence on the functioning of bilateral relations of the EU Member States. It is based on the historical development of the external representation of the EU including the latest changes under the Treaty of Lisbon and the work of the European External Action Service led by the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. Particular attention is given to the EU delegations as well as the filling of various positions within the diplomatic corps of the European Union. The issue of the need for and the effectiveness of national embassies and maintenance of bilateral relations by diplomatic means is dealt with separately.
